Job Summary

Automation Engineer

- Role: Java / Automation Engineer (Modernization & Automation Pivot)
- Location: Tampa FL (Hybrid; Local candidates only)
- Duration: 6 months


### Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the modernization of a legacy CPQ application from C# to Java/React.
- Work within an API-driven architecture integrating and orchestrating existing services.
- Leverage detailed documentation (API mappings system interactions integration points) to stabilize and operationalize the application.
- Transition into a long-term automation engineering role after initial modernization.
- Design build and execute automated test frameworks and suites using Selenium and Playwright.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate on Azure DevOps workflows and release processes.
- Operate as a hands-on mid- to senior-level individual contributor (not a leadership role).

### Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with Java.
- Experience with APIs system integrations and service-based or API-heavy environments.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and deployment workflows.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

### Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium Playwright etc.).
- Background in manual testing and transition to automation.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) and automated testing in CI/CD pipelines.
- Prior experience in modernization or migration projects.

### Ideal Candidate Profile
- Mid-level to senior engineer execution-focused not a leadership role.
- Hands-on with pre-defined architecture and documentation.
- Strong communicator able to work across development and QA teams.
- Interested in or currently transitioning into automation engineering.
