Automation Engineer Industrial Environment

Overview
The Automation Engineer supports the operation and improvement of automated systems within a heavy industrial environment. This role focuses on maintaining troubleshooting and enhancing control systems to ensure safe reliable and efficient production.

Compensation: $120000 - $140000 per year (potential flexibility up to $145000 for an exceptional candidate)

Location: Florence AL

Responsibilities

• Program troubleshoot and maintain PLC systems (Siemens and Allen-Bradley preferred)
• Support operations by resolving automation and control issues
• Optimize equipment performance through continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to reduce downtime
• Modify and improve HMI/SCADA systems as needed
• Assist with new equipment installations upgrades and commissioning

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience programming PLCs especially Siemens and Allen-Bradley
• Background in industrial automation preferably in manufacturing or heavy industry
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hands-on environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Heavy industrial experience in chemical petrochemical paper pulp forest products glass cement minerals processing metals processing or heavy equipment manufacturing is strongly preferred.
