About the role
As an Automation and Controls Engineer you will implement and maintain machine control systems and support the design and manufacture of semi and fully automated processes based on business needs. You will play a key role in maintaining equipment uptime supporting new product and process development and helping advance automation capabilities across our medical manufacturing environment.

  • Troubleshoot diagnose repair and maintain production and ancillary equipment to minimize downtime and support safe efficient operations.
  • Design build retrofit and redesign controller systems for new and legacy process equipment including support for obsolete components.
  • Develop test and implement PLC programs primarily on the Siemens platform with Beckhoff and Codesys experience considered highly valuable.
  • Design and maintain SCADA systems and dashboards to improve operational efficiency visibility and reliability.
  • Write and execute unit tests create documentation for programming logic and system configuration and support version control practices.
  • Create minor electrical drawings and schematics support electrical cabinet design and collaborate with design engineers on component selection.
  • Provide technical support for installed systems ensure adherence to safety standards and contribute to engineering team objectives and continuous improvement efforts.

About you
You bring strong analytical and mathematical skills and are comfortable solving complex electrical control system problems in a fast-paced dynamic production environment. You have hands-on experience troubleshooting machinery including situations where schematics may be limited and you can work effectively with legacy machinery as well as newer automated systems. Your background includes familiarity with common PLCs such as Allen Bradley Mitsubishi Siemens and ideally certification in Siemens and/or Beckhoff PLC programming. You also understand board-level electronics motor controllers and drives safety systems temperature controllers industrial communication protocols network configurations electrical cabinet design and a range of motor types including AC/DC 3 phase stepper and servo.

You are organized capable of keeping projects and processes on track and confident in reading electrical schematics with the ability to create supporting drawings and documentation for equipment builds being a strong advantage. A bachelors degree in engineering with an emphasis on electrical engineering skills or equivalent work experience together with substantial hands-on experience troubleshooting machinery will help you succeed in this role. You should also be willing to travel about 30% and feel comfortable working across cultures using digital tools.
