Automation and Controls Engineer

Primary Responsibilities

• Design program and maintain automation and control systems.
• Lead capital automation projects from concept through implementation.
• Collaborate with operations maintenance quality and engineering teams.
• Improve equipment reliability productivity and process performance.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting and system optimization.
• Ensure compliance with company safety and quality standards.

Job Duties

• Program and troubleshoot PLCs HMIs machine vision systems and related controls.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics using CAD software.
• Manage project scope schedules budgets equipment procurement and commissioning activities.
• Design and support automation solutions for industrial manufacturing applications.
• Analyze equipment performance and implement process improvements.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures.
• Work with vendors and contractors to support automation initiatives.
• Maintain technical documentation and engineering records.
• Comply with all NOV Quality and HSE policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications

• Associate or bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline required.
• Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing automation and controls experience.
• Must be located in the Navasota area or within a reasonable commuting distance; this is an onsite position
• Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC HMI and machine vision systems.
• Proficiency with CAD software for electrical schematic development.
• Demonstrated project management experience with successful implementation of capital projects.
• Working knowledge of automation manufacturing processes quality systems and continuous improvement practices.
• Strong troubleshooting analytical organizational and communication skills.
