Job Summary

Autism Support Broker

Location: Northeast/ Central Region of Massachusetts when traveling

Schedule: Monday through Friday 9am-5pm (occasional hours outside this range as needed)

Target Pay: $25.50-$27.50

Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on multiple factors including but not limited to the individuals experience education and internal equity.

Job Summary

Since 1991 Northeast Arcs Autism Support Center has been empowering families who have a member with autism or a related disorder by providing current accurate and unbiased information about autism services referrals resources and research trends.

As an Autism Support Broker you will be at the center of that this role you will provide a combination of services to families of individuals with autism working closely with the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) the Autism Waiver Program provider agencies and the families we serve. This is a position for someone who is organized and knowledgeable but above all genuinely committed to helping families navigate complex systems and access the supports they need to thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Plan collaborate and troubleshoot with parents and caregivers around autism waiver services and supports
  • Assist families in setting up and accessing services available through the Autism Waiver Program
  • Facilitate development of the Person-Centered Autism Support Plan including maintaining documentation in Meditech
  • Assist families in identifying potential providers by using web-based provider lists or identifying individuals within personal support systems
  • Assist families in working with Public Partnerships (PPL) to recruit screen hire train schedule monitor and pay support staff
  • On a monthly basis meet in person with families receiving Intensive In-Home Supports to ensure that the Support Plan is meeting family needs
  • Attend conferences trainings and presentations as a staff representative

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required; experience with autism personally or through work experience may substitute for some educational requirements
  • At least three years of experience and specialized training working within the field of autism
  • Knowledge of existing resources and services available to support individuals and families in the Northeast region of Massachusetts as well as the MA Department of Developmental Services
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to multi-task and execute several projects simultaneously; strong written and verbal communication skills; highly detail-oriented with the capacity to work independently and as a positive team member; knowledge of Microsoft Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint and database usage; proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information; demonstrated commitment to the empowerment of families
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required; ability to attend off-site meetings including driving in varied weather conditions
  • Sitting at a desk 50% of the day; standing and walking 50% of the workday
  • Must successfully complete and pass all required background checks as a condition of employment.
