Job Summary
- Day shift: 09:00 to 05:30 (2 FTE)
- Evening shift: 3:00 to 11:30 (2 FTE)
- Rotating weekends approximately 1 to 2 per month. Weekend day 0600 to 1400 weekend evening 1330 to 2100.
- Weekends holidays and overtime may be required.
- BLS
- Phlebotomist certification
- Fluent English: speak understand read and write
- Proficient in inpatient ward rounds inpatient and outpatient draws Emergency Department STAT ASAP and timed draws
- Positive patient and specimen identification
- Sample processing and send-out preparation
- Quality control documentation and resolution of collection processing testing or reporting issues
- Perform patient phlebotomy across inpatient ward rounds inpatient outpatient ED STAT ASAP and timed draws.
- Perform sample processing and send-out preparation.
- Positively identify patients prior to collection and samples prior to testing or aliquoting.
- Safeguard electronic and paper patient information.
- Independently test evaluate document and report patient testing and quality control.
- Identify document and resolve collection processing testing or reporting issues.
- Provide patient-centered care in a professional manner.
- Complete QM/PI documentation per the laboratory quality plan.
- Report patient safety events to the COR within 24 hours.
- Participate in laboratory quality improvement meetings (monthly 12 hours/year) and staff meetings (monthly 12 hours/year).
