Location: 1 VA Center Augusta ME 04330
Duration: 1 year plus 4 option years. Contract option as well.
Shift Schedule: Rotating shifts including evenings nights and weekends. No on-call required.
How Many Shifts Needed Per Month: Coverage across 5 FTE on day evening and night shifts. Weekends approximately 1-2 per month per person (may be more based on lab needs).
Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 weeks to 8 weeks
License: Any state license works.
Certifications:
Nationally certified MT MLS or CLS (required)
BLS/ACLS
Education: Bachelors degree in a relevant science with completion of an accredited CLS/MT program (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Experience Needed: 3 years of recent experience across chemistry urinalysis blood bank hematology coagulation and microbiology. (Education path C alternative requires 5 years.)
Perform patient and QC testing per established protocols across all lab sections.
Independently test evaluate document and report patient testing and QC.
Identify document and resolve collection processing testing or reporting issues.
Run routine daily and weekly QC and instrument maintenance.
Positively identify patients before collection and samples before testing.
Safeguard electronic and paper patient information.
Participate in monthly QI meetings and staff meetings (12 hours each annually).
Report patient safety events to the COR within 24 hours.
