This position is open to all individuals who are able to fulfill the following requirements:
  • This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis up to 20 hours per week.
  • 10-20 hours per week standing/adjustable schedule between the following:
  • Monday Friday 11:30am-6:00pm
  • This role does not follow the university schedule regarding break weeks
  • Some nights and weekends depending on events
  • Must be able to make a minimum 2 year commitment
Job Description:
The Audience Development Assistant (Student Assistant or OPS) will operate out of the University Box Office located at the Stephen C. OConnell Center. Primary responsibilities include selling tickets for all OConnell Center special events and UF School of Theatre and Dance events while also promoting for all events that take place in the arena.
Primary Duties:
  • Utilizes Ticketmaster Sales and Classic software to sell tickets for OConnell Center special events and UF school of Theatre and Dance events.
  • Provides excellent customer service to all patrons who visit the box office and occasionally assists with telephone sales.
  • Coordinates with Audience Development team in an effort to promote all upcoming events.
  • Utilizes social media to showcase the fan experience at all events that take place inside the OConnell Center (concerts athletics family events etc.)
  • Participates in periodic marketing meetings to assist in generating new ideas for promoting events via social media and other avenues.
  • Sells tickets during on-sales when events are announced and assists in ticket sales on the nights of shows for the OConnell Center events and theatre events at the McGuire Pavilion.
Expected Salary:

$16.00/hr. after a 120 hour probationary period. ($15.00 starting rate. Additional promotions available after training)

Required Qualifications:

Preferred:
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work fast under pressure
  • Previous cash handling experience
  • Ability to accurately perform cash or credit card ticket sales transactions
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and written
  • Experience with various social media platforms (Facebook Twitter Instagram etc.) and photography experience a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft office (Word Excel Access)
