Job Summary
Position Summary:
The Saint Louis Zoo is seeking dynamic positive and knowledgeable candidates with great leadership skills to join our attractions department. Support the Managers of Attractions by maintaining the daily operations of the Mary Ann Lee Conservation Carousel 4D Theater Wild Explorer Virtual Reality Dinoroarus Railroad Ticket Booths and potential future attractions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Guest Service Excellence: Leading the team to ensure all guests have a positive and seamless experience. Clearly setting the standards and expectations of excellence for the team of how they engage with guests present a professional appearance and ensure the overall guest experience meets or exceeds expectations.
Staff Leadership: Supervising and coaching the workforce. This also involves fostering a positive and productive work environment ensuring all-in house-training opportunities are completed and conducting annual performance reviews. Create a positive fun and professional work atmosphere for our guests and team. Assisting in hiring and working as the manager on duty when scheduled.
Compliance and Policy: Ensure compliance and accountability for all internal policies and procedures. Must keep the safety of the operations as the highest priority at all time
Operations Oversight: Ensure all operations run on as scheduled smoothly and efficiently. Monitor Guest flow and maintain labor efficiency to all operations. Create and write procedures manage ticket inventory open/close seasonal attractions and maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
Collaboration: Work closely with managers and assistant managers of the department.
Must be aligned with the Zoos Core Values and Three Keys.
Qualifications:
Qualifications and Essential Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least three (1) year of leadership experience in a related field with emphasis on customer service required.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach individuals and build a team environment.
Experienced in job specific recruitment training and development; all essential components in reducing staff turnover and maximizing team member potential.
The ability to utilize necessary technology and adapt to changing technological advancements required to support the operation.
Should have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Good organizational skills and time-management skills required.
All successful candidates for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check and a drug test. As this is a safety-sensitive role a negative drug test result is mandatory. The drug test screens for five substances including marijuana.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions and must be able to stand for several hours at a time.
Work Schedule:
Must be willing to have flexible work schedule which may include evenings weekends and holidays. Schedules revolve around Zoo operating hours that change seasonally and various event related business demands.
