Mid-Level Elder Law Attorney

A New York law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Elder Law Attorney for a remote position with Brooklyn preferred. Candidates throughout the five boroughs will be considered with travel to the Hauppauge NY office approximately once per week.

The Opportunity

This role focuses on Medicaid planning asset protection long-term care planning and crisis Medicaid applications. The attorney will work directly with individuals and families navigating significant healthcare financial and long-term care decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on Medicaid eligibility and asset protection strategies
• Develop and implement pre-planning and crisis planning solutions
• Oversee Medicaid applications and appeals
• Counsel clients regarding long-term care nursing home placement and community Medicaid programs
• Oversee estate planning documents
• Work closely with families navigating urgent healthcare and financial challenges
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and referral sources across Brooklyn and the greater NYC area

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Admission to and good standing with the New York State Bar
• Experience with Elder Law Medicaid Planning and Crisis Care Planning
• Estate Planning or Trusts & Estates experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of Medicaid eligibility rules and crisis planning strategies
• Excellent communication client-service and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote capacity while maintaining close collaboration with the team

Compensation & Work Arrangement

• The salary range is $125000$150000 based on experience. The position is remote with Brooklyn preferred and approximately weekly travel to the Hauppauge office.
