Job Summary

If youre an experienced civil rights litigator who enjoys courtroom advocacy trial strategy and partnering closely with law enforcement and government clients this opportunity offers the chance to take Section 1983 matters from inception through verdict while serving public entities across California.

What Youll Bring

  • 10 years of civil rights litigation experience
  • At least 5 first-chair Section 1983 trials to verdict
  • Strong knowledge of California Evidence Code and civil procedure
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active California bar license in good standing
  • Strong legal research writing analytical and organizational skills
  • Experience representing public entities or law enforcement agencies preferred

The Role

  • Manage Section 1983 civil rights litigation through verdict
  • Conduct discovery depositions hearings mediations and arbitrations
  • Handle motion practice including motions in limine
  • Prepare briefs pleadings and other legal documents
  • Interview clients and witnesses and maintain case communications
  • Regularly update clients on case progress
  • Represent public entities and law enforcement agencies in high-exposure civil rights matters

The position is full-time and based in Fullerton CA with candidates required to live within a reasonable commuting distance. The annual billable-hours target is 1800 hours.
