Job Summary
A litigation firm is seeking a Medical Malpractice Defense Associate Attorney in Long Beach for an attorney looking to continue developing as a litigator while building toward trial practice.
This opportunity offers the chance to work in a collaborative team environment gain meaningful experience with depositions discovery motions and court appearances and work alongside experienced litigators while developing long-term litigation skills.
The ideal candidate should have 3 years of civil litigation experience with medical malpractice and/or insurance defense experience preferred. Candidates should have strong writing deposition and discovery skills along with a genuine interest in developing as a trial attorney.
Responsibilities:
- Take and defend depositions including expert witness depositions
- Manage discovery and draft/respond to discovery requests
- Prepare motions pleadings and legal documents
- Attend hearings and court appearances
- Communicate with clients regarding case strategy and updates
- Collaborate with attorneys across the firm
Requirements:
- Medical malpractice or insurance defense experience strongly preferred
- Strong deposition discovery and legal writing skills
- Analytical proactive and detail-oriented approach
- Interest in long-term growth and developing as a trial attorney

Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary of $140000$160000 with potential compensation up to $170000 for exceptional experience
- Quarterly bonus opportunity tied to billable hour performance
