Job Summary:

The Athletics Event Staff assists in the execution of intercollegiate athletic events ensuring a positive and safe experience for student-athletes staff and fans. This role supports all aspects of game day operations including event setup and breakdown ticketing ushering and concessions. This position is ideal for students or individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in collegiate athletics and event management.


Key Responsibilities:


Assist with setup of athletic venues including courts/fields seating areas signage and equipment


Support post-event teardown and cleanup to restore facilities to operational standards


Provide customer service to spectators alumni and campus community members


Perform game day roles such as ticket sales/scanning ushering crowd management and concessions support


Enforce venue policies and assist with maintaining a safe and welcoming environment


Operate ticketing systems and point-of-sale (POS) equipment accurately


Direct fans to seating areas restrooms concessions and exits


Work collaboratively with athletic staff campus security and event personnel


Assist with special events such as tournaments playoffs and campus-hosted competitions


Work Environment:


Indoor and outdoor collegiate athletic facilities


Energetic fast-paced game day atmosphere


Exposure to varying weather conditions for outdoor sports


Physical Requirements:


Ability to stand and walk for extended periods


Ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 2550 lbs)


Frequent bending lifting and movement during setup and teardown

Required Qualifications:
  • Be currently enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside

  • Have a GED

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Qualify for work study financial aid assistance.

  • Previous experience working within an athletic facility/event management or comparable work environment.
