Job Summary

Assistant Softball Coach/Assistant Coordinator of Athletic Events

The Assistant Softball Coach/Assistant Coordinator of Athletic Events assists with all aspects of the University of Mary softball program while providing support for game day operations and event management for assigned athletic contests. The appointee will support the Head Softball Coach in all aspects of managing a competitive NCAA Division II addition the appointee will assist with the execution of assigned home athletic events including event setup game management support and post-event teardown following all rules and regulations of the University of Mary the NSIC the ACHA and the NCAA.

A key responsibility is the enthusiastic implementation of and personal investment in the Universitys Greatness Through Virtue whole-person development model.

Candidates will be invited to demonstrate a willingness to support the Christian Catholic Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist the Head Softball Coach with all aspects of program management including coaching recruiting scholar-athlete development practice planning travel camps and clinics budget responsibilities compliance with University conference and NCAA policies and other duties related to the successful operation of the softball program.
  • Assist with game day operations and event management for assigned athletic contests including facility setup event preparation venue logistics support of game personnel welcoming visiting teams and officials maintaining athletic facilities equipment and game day materials post-event teardown attendance at departmental meetings assistance with specials events as assigned and other related athletic department operational responsibilities..
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and requested

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Masters degree preferred
  • Upholds and promotes the Christian Catholic Benedictine mission of the University of Mary
  • Supports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities
  • Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality inthe Office ofIntercollegiate Athletics and throughout the university in accord with Saint Benedicts admonition thatall be received as Christ

Knowledge and Skillsinclude:

  • Understanding the Greatness Through Virtue core strategies and being able to facilitatethe growth of our Scholar-Athletes in the virtues of academic life
  • Must possess a good driving record and pass a background check
  • Working knowledge of NCAA rules standards practices and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills

The office is located in the Fieldhouse on campus.
