Job Summary
The Astrodynamics Team is responsible for conducting a range of modeling simulation and analyses in areas such as space mission design trajectory design orbital maneuvers orbit estimation space debris collision and avoidance analyses and space domain awareness. Engineers in the Astrodynamics group are integral throughout the entire program lifecycle providing mission design inputs maneuver plans to meet mission objectives as well as console support for on-orbit operations. They are directly responsible for determining the necessary capability of the satellites propulsion system and successfully maneuvering vehicles during flight operations. They oversee the orbital Concept-of-Operations (CONOPS) from inception to on-orbit operations and through to end-of-life disposal.

As an Astrodynamics Engineer you will support execution of technical design analysis and operation for a given program study or will run orbital analysis tools under the supervision of a project or technical will assess the performance of our systems against subsystem and system level addition you may be asked to present technical results at design reviews or customer meetings.

This positions internal job code is Guidance Navigation & Controls. Our team is currently hiring for levels 1-2.

Responsibilities

  • Perform astrodynamics and orbit analyses

  • Receiving astrodynamics requirements and assessing performance to meet customer requirements and perform customer missions

  • Optimize spacecraft trajectories based on fuel time and/or performance characteristics

  • Research and evaluate state-of-the-art ground and space-based sensors constellation design and satellite maneuver strategies

  • System analysis support

  • Mission operations tool development and support

  • Other duties as assigned

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is Person includes US Citizen lawful permanent resident refugee or asylee.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology) Computer Science Data Science Mathematics Physics Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • Coursework internship or industry experience in orbital mechanics orbit design or astrodynamics (1 years)

  • Experience in modeling simulation and analysis (1 years)

  • Experience with orbit design and simulation software tools (e.g. GMAT STK COTS mission planning tools etc.) (1 years)

  • Experience utilizing scientific computing software (MATLAB and/or Python) (1 years)

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in aerospace engineering or other related technical or engineering discipline

  • 2 years industry experience in orbit analysis role(s) (may substitute advanced degrees for industry experience)

  • Experience with rendezvous and proximity operations or formation flight

  • Experience with orbit determination and parameter estimation techniques(Batch and Sequential Estimation Angles Only Range Measurements etc.)

  • Technical leadership capability including requirements generation and ability to serve as responsible engineering authority (REA).

  • Active Top Secret security clearance
