Job Summary
- Job Responsibilities
Under limited supervision provide assistance to the Warden of an adult male medium/maximum security institution to ensure instructions and directives are implemented.
Responsible to the Warden in the areas of medical education maintenance cafeteria business horticulture prison industries recreation religious activities mail room commissary canteen and human services.
Dually supervise one administrative assistant and one administrative specialist.
Working hours will vary.
On Call.
- Minimum and Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A bachelors degree and supervisory experience in a correctional environment or relevant military experience. Relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelors degree on a year-for-year basis.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
A high diploma and ten (10) years experience in correctional security military or police work which must Include five (5) years of supervisory experience in a correctional environment.
A bachelors degree may substitute for 4 years of overall experience.
Associate degree may substitute for 2 years of overall experience.
No substitutions for supervisory experience.
Must be certified by the SCDC training academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position.
