EPE is looking to recruit an Associate Technical Director with a background inModelling andInterconnection/Transmission Planning studies. We are ideally looking for a candidate with extensive experience in the MISO and SPP regions but would be open to candidates with strongbackgrounds outside these markets.This role is ideal for a technical leader who thrives on solving hard problems building trustedrelationshipsand driving outsized impact for both our clients and the industry.

Client & Market Impact

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to generationlargeload and merchant transmissiondevelopers helping them navigateMISO and SPPsevolving interconnection landscape.

  • Translate complex technical issues into clear and actionable insights that accelerate client decision-makingand support project success.

  • Leveragestrong communicationand stakeholder engagement skills to gather necessary input and make informed recommendations evenin situations where there is inherent ambiguity.

  • Lead reviews of interconnection studies and identify creative pathways toremove roadblocks and expediteprojects.

Commercial & Strategic Growth

  • Partner with senior leadership to shape and execute EPEs growth strategy acrossMISO SPPand beyond.

  • Identifyand pursuethe development of new services to address ourclientneeds.

  • Leadproposaland RFPdevelopmentefforts.

  • Contribute thought leadership through conferences technical papers and industry forums.

  • Drive the development of internal toolsand analytics that strengthen EPEsposition in the market.

Qualifications

  • Minimum8years of experience in the electric energy industry.
  • Proven ability to connect the dots between technicaldeliverables clientneedsand theircommercial strategy.
  • Exceptional communicator who can influencecreatealignmentand make decisions confidently under uncertainty.
  • Strong understanding ofMISO SPPandUtilityinterconnection requirementsand regulatory frameworkforboth generation and load.
  • Strongwritten and verbalcommunicationandability to workcollaboratively andeffectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Beneficial Experience

  • Direct experience working at an ISO orUtility in theEastern Interconnector on behalf of these entities as a consultantwould be highly valuable.
  • Experience in IBR modelling and/or loadmodelling.
  • Workingknowledge ofpower system analysis software(e.g. PSS/ETARAPSCAD PSLF orPowerWorld).
  • Experience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality productivity and innovation under experience (bring your passion section.
