The Legal Team is Snaps dedicated in-house law firm risk consultant advocate thought partner and all-around advisor. This team helps Snap do the right thing the right way make better decisions understand and manage risks and creatively navigate challenges both external and internal. We partner with Snap team members on a wide array of matters including privacy product IP commercial transactions corporate governance employment acquisitions litigation policy and social impact. Were looking for an experienced multifaceted litigator with deep civil litigation experience to join our Litigation Team. Snaps Legal team helps Snap do the right thing the right way make better decisions understand and manage risks and creatively navigate challenges both external and internal. This role will be based in our headquarters in Santa Monica CA.
What youll do:
Join and contribute to a talented and collaborative team of litigators as well as cross-functional partners
Be an active and strategic leader for a diverse portfolio of matters across multiple jurisdictions within Snaps litigation docket running cutting-edge cases and making key strategic decisions
Truly own matters from start to finish including by being a collaborative connector within Snap and beyond
Act as an active and engaged partner with outside counsel to devise strategy and pursue action designed to deliver successful outcomes
Oversee substantive work on litigation matters including case assessments law and motion discovery experts witnesses settlements trial and appeals
Oversee all aspects of outside counsel relationships including counsel engagement spend management staffing and identification and execution of strategy
Work cross-functionally with relevant internal departments including Product Policy and Safety teams
Provide wise counsel to business and cross-functional teams help identify and manage risk and deliver solutions to problems
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Highly skilled in all aspects of litigation (e.g. brief-writing legal strategy discovery deposition and trial preparation expert witnesses); trial experience highly preferred
Demonstrated record of successfully leading complex legal matters and engagement with federal and state government and regulatory officials
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to collaborate well with colleagues
Strong organizational and case management skills
Sound judgment on legal and business issues
Collaborative team player who can connect well with a broad range of people and knows how to provide solution-minded legal advice cognizant of business objectives
Minimum qualifications:
J.D. degree from an accredited law school and strong academic credentials
Active membership in at least one state bar in good standing
10 years of legal experience in complex and government litigation matters
Preferred qualifications:
Complex litigation experience in private practice
In-house experience is highly preferred
Trial experience is highly preferred

Compensation
In the United States work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidates starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills experience qualifications work location and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
The base salary range for this position is $276000-$414000 annually.Required Experience:
