Associate Director Undergraduate Programs The College of Engineering is seeking an Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs to join its Undergraduate Programs Office. The Associate Director plays a key role in supporting the academic success and overall experience of Engineering undergraduates with particular responsibility for the Colleges first-year student population. Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Programs the Associate Director provides academic advising to undergraduate students while leading programs and initiatives that support first-year advising orientation recruitment yield and retention. The Associate Director oversees the Colleges first-year counseling program and Freshman Advising Seminar (EK 100) coordinates major recruitment and yield activities and supervises and mentors Academic Advisors. This is a highly collaborative and student-facing role that works closely with students faculty College leadership academic departments and University partners to create a supportive and engaging experience for Engineering students from recruitment and enrollment through their undergraduate academic journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as academic advisor for approximately 200 undergraduate students helping students assess their academic progress explore options navigate challenges and make informed decisions about their academic paths.
• Supervise and mentor two Academic Advisors providing ongoing guidance and support through regular individual meetings.
• Oversee advising and registration services for approximately 450 first-year Engineering students and analyze first-year student data and trends to inform programming and student support.
• Plan and implement EK 100 the Freshman Advising Seminar including coordinating the course syllabus and selecting hiring and training approximately 35 EK 100 Student Advisors.
• Serve as the Colleges primary liaison to the Office of Orientation and coordinate Summer Orientation programming for incoming first-year Engineering students.
• Partner with University Recruitment and the Yield Committee to plan and implement recruitment and yield initiatives including Admitted Terrier Days Fall and Winter Open Houses and Admitted Terrier Visits.
• Collaborate with the Director of Undergraduate Programs Associate Dean Dean and other College partners to develop programming and activities for Admitted Terrier Days and other recruitment initiatives.
• Monitor and provide annual reporting on recruitment and enrollment data including deposits conversion/yield and matriculation.
• Serve as a key liaison with cognate departments and programs including Biology Chemistry Mathematics Physics the CAS Writing Program and first-year Engineering courses.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for transfer students and collaborate with the Engineering Registrar to manage registration and waitlist considerations for first-year and transfer student populations.

• Bachelors degree with 58 years of relevant experience or Masters degree with 35 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in academic advising student services higher education administration or a related area.
• Demonstrated ability to advise and support students as they navigate academic decisions requirements and challenges.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple programs events and priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students faculty staff College leadership and University partners.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a student-focused team while also exercising independent judgment and initiative.
• Experience supervising or mentoring staff is preferred.
• Experience supporting first-year students orientation recruitment yield or retention initiatives is preferred.
