Job Description
As an Associate Director Project Management at Gilead you will support key strategy and planning initiatives at the U.S. Commercial level and partner with Business Units and functions to advance organizational priorities.
The incumbent will report to the Senior Director Business Strategy & Operations and will be based in Foster City CA.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and consult on the development and execution of strategic initiatives aligned to U.S. Commercial goals and objectives.
Lead ad hoc planning operations and special projects translating ambiguous business questions into clear workplans and recommendations.
Develop work products for senior management consideration including frameworks presentations analyses recommendations and thought pieces.
Create and maintain detailed project plans with clear tasks milestones owners timelines risks and status reporting.
Proactively engage cross-functional stakeholders to identify interdependencies resolve issues and drive alignment.
Provide strategic perspective and constructive challenges while helping teams move from discussion to action.
Interface regularly with leadership teams across the U.S. organization including Business Unit and functional leadership teams.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree and 10 years experience
OR
Masters Degree and 8 years years experience
OR
PhD and 2 years experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and 10 years of relevant experience; OR Masters degree MBA with 8 years of relevant experience or PhD or MD with 2 years relevant experience.
2 years at a top-tier consulting firm preferred.
Biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience strongly preferred.
Must have a strong understanding of the U.S. Commercial business portfolio and cross-functional operating environment.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Demonstrated ability to contribute to complex new concepts techniques standards tools and processes.
Recognized as an expert in a relevant field within the organization with the ability to solve a wide range of complex problems.
Able to work with virtually no immediate direction and exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches.
Strong strategic problem-solving skills including breaking down issues identifying options synthesizing insights and driving to resolution.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to listen influence without authority negotiate resolve conflict and build consensus.
High EQ executive presence sound judgment and confidence to provide dissenting views when appropriate.
Ability to manage multiple initiatives independently prioritize effectively and drive forward in ambiguity.
Experience designing and deploying rigorous processes tools templates governance and project management approaches.
Familiarity with Change Management frameworks and principles specifically ADKAR.
Excellent communication skills; must be highly proficient in PowerPoint and able to craft executive-ready stories with minimal guidance.
Proficiency in Smartsheet Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint MS Teams and Microsoft 360 CoPilot
