Job Summary
The Opportunity
The Undergraduate Admissions Office (UAO) at Cornell University seeks a a dynamic hard-working and talented individual to provide the leadership planning and coordination for all aspects of the Undergraduate Admissions visitor experience for prospective and admitted students.
The Associate Director of Admissions / Visit Experience will provide leadership for prospective student on-campus information sessions and virtual sessions oversee various admission yield programs manage key events and supervise student ambassador programs. This position plays a key role in university strategic planning and implementation for the visitor experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Visitor Experience Management
- Lead the planning coordination and execution of all Undergraduate Admissions visitor experience initiatives for prospective and admitted students; identify and address ongoing and future needs implement improvements and ensure an exceptional visitor experience.
- Yield Program Management
- Provide leadership for the planning and implementation of Cornells undergraduate yield initiatives by directing and planning the execution of Cornell Days and virtual yield programs; chairing campus-wide planning committees; coordinating cross-campus participation and programming to ensure a cohesive and high-quality admitted and prosepctive student experience.
- Event Management
- Co-lead Slate event management for virtual and in-person Undergraduate Admissions programs by coordinating event setup and scheduling overseeing communications and registration processes partnering with event hosts and campus stakeholders and analyzing event data to drive operational improvements and inform future event strategy.
- Advisor for CU Ambassadors
- Advise and manage the Big Red Ambassadors program by recruiting onboarding training and mentoring student ambassadors; ensuring consistent and effective representation of Cornell University; and expanding ambassador engagement and visibility across recruitment visitor and yield programs throughout the admissions cycle.
About the Department
UAO provides leadership for prospect management student recruitment and communication admissions social media application processing the prospective student visit experience yield strategy and coordination market research long-range planning and admissions volunteer engagement. UAO also directs university-wide enrollment efforts for special populations including the recruitment selection and enrollment of recruited athletes underrepresented minority students and international students.

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree and at least three years of admissions experience or student services experience or equivalent combination.
Excellent interpersonal public speaking and writing abilities required.
Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively.
Strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated commitment to and success at recruiting and enrolling students.
Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students faculty staff and community members.

Direct experience with admissions and recruitment in a highly selective and competitive environment.
Experience managing yield programs and coordinating large-scale events is desirable.
Experience with Slate Technolutions.
Experience with the use of data in recruitment and admissions.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Employees typically perform this role remotely 2 days per week and on-campus 3 days per week. The university reserves the right to modify suspend revoke or terminate the hybrid work arrangement at any time.
