Summary

We are seeking an experienced and collaborative scientist to lead a computational sciences team that helps biotherapeutic project teams choose antibodies design and optimize molecules plan experiments and advance programs across the oncology neuroscience and immunology research portfolio.

This role is accountable for ensuring computational work influences live program decisionsincluding molecule selection experimental strategy prioritization and go/no-go decisionsfrom binder discovery through candidate nomination. The role balances delivery on active programs with longer-term capability building translating portfolio needs into computational strategies that improve current decisions and inform future generative design and predictive modeling capabilities.

This is a hands-on scientific leadership role. You will set priorities across competing program needs develop computational scientists and focus the teams work on the highest-impact portfolio questions. Success requires close collaboration technical judgment clear communication and the ability to translate analyses into hypotheses visualizations reports and recommendations that shape project team decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a computational sciences portfolio team setting priorities across multiple biologics programs in BMS pre-clinical pipeline.
• Apply bioinformatics machine learning and AI-enabled design approaches to improve antibody selection design optimization characterization and experimental decision-making.
• Define when computational predictions are reliable enough to act on when they should be qualified and when additional experimental evidence is needed.
• Partner with project teams to translate scientific questions into computational strategies and clear recommendations from binder discovery through candidate nomination.
• Communicate hypotheses methods results visualizations and recommendations in decision-ready formats tailored to project teams governance forums and scientific partners.
• Coach mentor and develop computational scientists while fostering scientific rigor urgency accountability collaboration and impact.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree with 12 years of academic/industry experience OR Masters with 10 years OR PhD with 8 years.
• Preferred advanced degree in computational biology computational chemistry bioengineering biophysics machine learning or a related field with relevant experience applying computational methods to biologics protein engineering antibody discovery or therapeutic discovery programs.
• 4 years of leadership experience.
• Demonstrated ability to influence project decisions through rigorous analysis scientific judgment and clear communication.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize computational effort across competing program needs capacity constraints and decision timelines.
• Experience leading mentoring and developing scientists through clear expectations actionable feedback coaching and support for technical and professional growth.
• Experience validating and calibrating computational models against experimental outcomes including communicating model confidence and limitations to non-computational partners.
• Strong understanding of discovery biotherapeutics workflows including antibody selection design optimization experimental design and the path from binder discovery through candidate nomination.
• Ability to operate effectively across disciplines build trust with project teams and translate complex computational work into clear actionable recommendations.

The starting pay range(s) listed above is for full-time employees (FTE). You may also be eligible for additional discretionary incentive cash and stock opportunities. We determine starting pay thoughtfully carefully considering the nature of the role required skills work location schedule and the knowledge and experience you bring. Final compensation is guided by pay equity principles and applicable employment laws. Compensation programs are reviewed on an ongoing basis and may be adjusted over time to reflect evolving market factors and individual team or Company performance.

U.S.-based exempt employees are eligible for Flexible Time Off (FTO) which provides paid time off without a set accrual limit subject to manager approval along with 11 paid company holidays each year.

Non-exempt employees RayzeBio employees and employees located in Puerto Rico receive 160 hours of paid vacation annually for new hires (subject to manager approval) 11 paid company holidays and 3 optional holidays.
