Associate Director, Athletics Communications

Essential Functions:

• 30% Design and maintain media guides game programs and departmental websites.
• 20% Update maintain and report conference/national level statistical records using a computerized statistical program.
• 20% Respond to requests from media regarding local regional and national level with teams to handle media relations while serving as an intermediary between the Universitys athletic programs and the media/public.
• 15% Monitor and post on team and department social media platforms.
• 5% Nominate and promote University teams coaches and players for conference regional and national awards/honors.
• 5% Write and submit information for the press in local national and regional publications.
• 5% Manage the scheduling and payroll functions of the statistics crew for game day operations/management.

Education:

Requires a relevant Bachelors Degree.

Experience:

Requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in public relations and media communications for athletic events. Strong computer skills including word processing spreadsheet and desktop publishing capabilities to record and interpret sports statistics of all sports and related NCAA rules and regulations is required.
