The Associate Dean provides collaborative leadership that empowers faculty supports students and advances academic excellence. Working alongside the Dean this position oversees personnel academic operations program development dual credit initiatives student support and daily school processes.

You will help foster a positive inclusive strength-based and interest-based environment while contributing to the Schools continued growth and development.

This position has supervisory responsibilities and reports to the Dean School of Protective & Human Services.

What You Will Actually Do

Personnel Leadership and Development

  • Recruit hire onboard supervise and evaluate faculty and staff.
  • Set clear expectations and provide coaching regular feedback and performance support.
  • Review and approve instructional assignments.
  • Conduct faculty observations and employee performance evaluations.
  • Foster a strength-based environment that supports employee growth engagement and success.

Communication and Inclusive Leadership

  • Maintain transparent and open communication with administration faculty staff and students.
  • Build productive relationships across departments campuses and stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity equity and inclusion in student engagement campus climate and higher education settings.
  • Promote a positive respectful and inclusive environment for students and employees.

School Operations and Administrative Support

  • Manage daily school processes including staff absences travel expense reporting and other administrative activities.
  • Collaborate with Academic Operations to create the annual schedule of course offerings.
  • Collaborate with Program Effectiveness Coordinators on program vitality student learning assessment and curriculum maintenance.
  • Assist the Dean with advisory committees accreditation activities and School projects.
  • Support effective consistent and responsive daily School operations.

Program and Dual Credit Management

  • Oversee dual credit offerings and academy programs.
  • Support recruitment strategies and faculty engagement for dual credit and academy initiatives.
  • Manage the implementation of new programs.
  • Coordinate required documentation facility preparation equipment procurement and faculty development.
  • Help ensure programs are launched and maintained effectively.

Student Support and Engagement

  • Resolve formal and informal student complaints.
  • Address academic integrity concerns involving students enrolled in School courses.
  • Support student clubs projects and activities that contribute to an engaging student experience.
  • Coordinate with faculty staff and administrators to address student needs and concerns.

Community Engagement and College Leadership

  • Serve on and represent the School in internal and external committees.
  • Collaborate with deans administrators and other leaders across the College.
  • Advance the Schools goals and Gateways mission and strategic priorities.
  • Build relationships that strengthen the Schools visibility partnerships and impact.

Program Growth and Recruitment

  • Assist the Dean with expanding the Schools program offerings.
  • Support recruitment efforts and initiatives.
  • Help identify opportunities to strengthen enrollment access and program sustainability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree.
  • Two years or four semesters of postsecondary teaching experience.
  • Two years or 4000 hours of experience in leadership and employee coaching.
Conditions of Employment

Schedule: Flexibility is needed to accommodate day evening and weekend student and business needs.
