Associate Category Manager (Open to remote in the US)

The Associate Category Manager will lead to own and scale category management capability across the Cargill Animal Nutrition & Health Retail role will partner with Key Account teams to support category reviews manage joint business plan reporting and support the broader business with category insights and developing role will operate as the category management expert embedded into account teams while also building repeatable tools frameworks and capabilities that extend to marketing and sales role requires strong judgement in a data-constrained environment and the ability to balance retailer objectives shopper needs and portfolio priorities.

• Lead category management for key accounts delivering actionable recommendations across assortment space planning and promotional activities
• Build scorecards and benchmarking to track performance and inform joint business planning
• Synthesize multiple data sources (POS syndicated shipment retailer inputs) into clear defensible insights
• Develop category stories that move beyond reporting to influence retailer decisions
• Evaluate promotional effectiveness and pricing strategies to improve category and portfolio outcomes
• Lead development and deployment of AMPS/4P framework across species portfolios
• Create repeatable toolkits (segmentation assortment frameworks space logic) that scale across accounts
• Expand team knowledge and skillset of category management
• Partner across sales customer marketing portfolio/species teams to align recommendations and business priorities
• Ensure current strategies reflect retailer goals shopper behavior and portfolio strategy
• Act as liaison for retail-embedded field analysts; set priorities and standardize outputs
• Build and manage a consistent cadence of scorecards insights reviews and category updates
• Improve data integration and reporting efficiency over time

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of work experience in category management shopper insights retail analytics within CPG animal nutrition or adjacent industry
• Demonstrated ability to influence retail partners with fact-based assortment pricing space and promotional analytics and recommendations
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong data analytic skills with experience working across customer data platforms and syndicated tools like Numerator Stackline Nielsen/IRI Euromonitor etc.
• Advanced experience in building data visualization and performing analytics within business intelligence tools: Tableau PowerBI
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed organization

• The expected salary for this position is $97000 $130000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location certifications education and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
