In NC we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our newer Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facility in Clayton NC sits on 825000 square-feet of state-of-the-art equipment and houses the Fermentation Recovery and Purification in the production of ingredients for Novo Nordisks innovative oral products. The Position
Work to improve reliability of the process control systems to meet current & projected customer business & regulatory requirements.
Relationships
Reports to Manager Senior Manager.
Essential Functions
- Support plans to maintain & improve process control systems
- Demonstrate awareness of systematic problem-solving in everyday life
- Schedule & execute plans in coordination with operations schedules
- Own self-development & initiative to build an understanding of automation applications & systems
- Adhere to the automation standards & implement the necessary changes to the automation-related specifications & maintenance plans
- Support Engineering Technicians
- Assist in coaching & training colleagues & stakeholders
- Operate in compliance with a quality first mindset
- Assist in implementing process changes & investigating process deviations
- Work closely with operations to identify process gaps & focus on continuous improvement
- Support corporate PS local IT & local stakeholder initiatives & projects
- Govern behavior based on the Novo Nordisk Way
- Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Other accountabilities as assigned
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in engineering or related field of study from an accredited university required
- May consider an Associates degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university with two (2) years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing utility &/or packaging systems required
- May consider a High School Degree/GED with four (4) years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing utility &/or packaging systems required
- Minimum of two (2) years engineering experience in process-based manufacturing utility &/or packaging systems preferred
- Technical/Process/Functional knowledge preferred
- Knowledgeable in the following technologies: PLC DCS/SCADA MES Oracle MS SQL (databases) Historian general controls a plus
- Organization/Planning: Knowledge in planning/organization follow-up & completion a plus
