Job Summary
The Assistive Technology Coordinator supportsequitableaccess for students with disabilities by overseeing the delivery of accessible course materials and assistive technology services. This role collaborates with students faculty and staff to ensureaccommodations areimplemented accurately on time and in alignment with accessibility regulations while contributing to the ongoing improvement of accessibility services.
Key Responsibilitiesinclude:
Coordinate and deliver accessible course materials including alternate formats assistive technologies and notetaking tools.
Manage alternate format and assistive technology workflows including timelines documentation and issue resolution.
Provide training and technical support to students faculty and staff related to assistive technologies and accommodation processes.
Maintain and manage assistive technology inventories including studentloancheckout and return processes.
Support compliance with ADA Section 504 and institutional accessibility policies by implementing approved accommodations and applying accessibility best practices.
The incumbent will be expected toobservean unpaid work break two months out of the year.Typicallythe unpaid work breaks areexpected to beinJuneand July butthe datesmayvary each year.
- Monitors deadlines and work flow processes to ensure delivery of services
- Selects and implements technology solutions and develop and updates processes
- Tests troubleshoots and resolves issues post-implementation
- Converts materials (print electronic documents video and/or audio) into alternative formats by utilizing technological mediums and various strategies
Compensation: $35000-$40000/annually(this is the salaryamountprorated based on 2 months of unpaid leave).Salarywill bedeterminedbyfinalistsexperience training education and equity-based factors.
Bachelors degree
At least one year ofwork experiencewith disabled individuals.
Knowledge of PDF remediation using Adobe Acrobat Pro including reading order and tagging.Please includeclear evidenceof knowledge in each area in your resume and/or cover letter.

Bachelors degreeor higherin occupational therapy special education or rehabilitation sciences and technology.
Two or more years of experienceworkingwith disabled individuals.
Experience with PDF remediation using Adobe Acrobat Pro including form fields reading order and tagging.
Experience with assistive technologies including braille displays digital magnifierslisteningassistive technology notetaking systems screen reading software and text-to-speech and voice recognition software.
Experience withthe use and application of multimedia accessibility standards including audio descriptions captions and transcripts.
WisTechAssistive Technology Certification or RESNA Assistive Technology Professional Certification.
