Tenure-Track Assistant Associate or Full Professor of Accounting

The Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business at The Citadel The Military College of South Carolina invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Accounting at the Assistant Associate or Professor level beginning Fall 2027.

Position Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting.
• Maintain Scholarly Academic (SA) status through ongoing high-quality peer-reviewed publications and other scholarly activities in accordance with Baker School of Business criteria.
• Advise and mentor accounting majors supporting their academic professional and ethical development.
• Actively promote the accounting program both within the institution and externally through professional engagement.
• Participate in normal service activities including departmental and school-level committee work.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• An earned doctorate in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited (or equivalent) institution (ABD candidates will be considered for the assistant professor level if the dissertation defense is expected before employment begins).
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching scholarship and service.

Preferred:

• Active professional licensure (e.g. CPA CMA).
• Professional experience in accounting or a related field.
• A record of or potential for publishing in high-quality peer-reviewed academic journals.
