The Division of Hematologyat the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus has an opening for a full-timeAssociate Professor/Professor to lead the classical hematology section and is seeking a Board certified or board eligible hematologist for this purpose.

The new faculty member would be expected to participate in clinical and translational research related to hematology and to engage in training of medical residents fellows and others associated with the Division. The Hematology Division of the Department of Medicine University of Colorado School of Medicine has its own very successful and highly efficient Clinical Trials Unit allowing for a robust program in drug development and other studies and includes tissue banking. There are extensive resources and opportunities for basic science translational and clinical research on campus in hematology and through cross-divisional Division is fully committed to the clinical and academic success of the new faculty individual would become part of a fantastic group of academic clinicians establishing the University of Colorado as a center of excellence in hematology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ambulatory-based patient care caring for patients with hematologic pathologic conditions

• Partner with Hospital and School of Medicine partners to build a hematology program

• Supervising nurse practitioners physician assistants nurses fellows residents and medical students as needed

• Carrying out a research program

• Participating in and leading outreach activities including outreach clinics outside the CU-Anschutz campus educational events for patients and their families camps for patients work with patient advocacy groups and other similar initiatives

Work Location:

Onsite this role is expected to work onsite full time in various sites on the Anschutz Medical Campus located in Aurora CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Rank at the time of appointment will be based on the candidates demonstrated contributions and experience in teaching clinical research and/or service to the field. Assistant/Associate Professor:

• MD or DO degree

• Board Certified in Hematology

• Eligible for Colorado state medical license

• Experience in treating patients with classical hematological disorders

• Able to obtain credentials and privileges at the University of Colorado Hospital and with CU Medicine

Preferred Qualifications:

• Established research program

• Experience with regulatory and quality improvement activities

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution

• Outstanding customer service skills

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Assistant Professor: $220000 - $275000

Associate Professor: $220000 - $300000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
