Position Overview
The Assistant/Associate Director of Community Relations is a full-time exempt year-round member of the Graland Development team responsible for strengthening engagement across the Graland community through events stewardship communications collaboration and relationship-building. The Assistant/Associate Director of Community Relations is a full-time exempt year-round member of the Graland Development team responsible for strengthening engagement across the Graland community through events stewardship communications collaboration and relationship-building. This role also supports school events for various community constituencies. Final title will be determined based on incoming experience level.

Primary Responsibilities
The following list is not comprehensive but serves as a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities.
- Lead strategies to strengthen engagement across the Graland community including parents alumni faculty/staff trustees grandparents community partners and local organizations.
- Partner with the rest of the Development team to manage donor relations and stewardship efforts including volunteer recognition and development committee participation.
- Manage the schools loyalty society program and oversee stewardship-related communication and recognition efforts.
- Plan and oversee community-building cultivation and donor events including logistics vendor coordination communications RSVPs and on-site management.
- Serve as liaison to the Graland Parent Association (GPA) fostering communication collaboration and alignment between GPA leadership and the school.
- Support and advise GPA leadership on events registrations volunteer tracking and school processes.
- Actively participate in the life of the school community by partnering with educators engaging with students when appropriate and attending school assemblies and other events.
- Be willing to pitch in where needed and help with coverage needs that might arise.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head of School and Director of Development.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree with 5-7 years of event experience preferably at an independent school college university or nonprofit organization.
- Experience developing and sustaining meaningful relationships with Board members donors volunteers and school leadership to advance fundraising goals.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a talent for collaboration consensus-building and respect.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously preserving quality across them.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work well independently and as a member of multiple teams.
- High emotional intelligence sound judgment and the utmost discretion in handling sensitive donor and institutional information.
- Commitment to the highest standards of work ethic and a job done well at all times as well as a deep dedication to diversity equity and inclusive community engagement.
- Experience with donor databases (Raisers Edge preferred).
- Proficiency with Google suite and other digital tools.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for events; ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. The annual salary is between $75000- $90000.
