Throwing Coach Track and Field

Notre Dame de Sion School in Kansas City MO is seeking an experienced throwing coachfor Track and Field for the2026-27 school year. This position will be responsible for thethrowersprogram and players.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
To assist with and lead the current High SchoolThrowingProgram and team

QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS:
Experience developing HS Track and Field throwers to include discus javelin and shot put.
Evidenced ability to maintain and consistently exemplify the highest standards of educational
professionalism leadership sportsmanship and respect
Demonstrated ability to effectively work with students staff administration and parents with
proven organizational and motivational skills and possess the ability to maintain coaching responsibilities on and off campus
Flexibility in work schedule as needed as involvement in student life is an expectation of all
coachesrequires 1-2 overnight trips to away meets
Preferred four-year degree; Minimum two (2) years of experience coaching Track and FieldThrowsand teaching skills and strategies that apply to the skill level of the players
Knowledge of appropriate safety measures to ensure the well-being of players and experience
working with an Athletic Trainer ensuring student-athletes receive proper medical and physical
training services
CPR/First Aid certification and must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in coordinating practice sessions and training programs for thethrowerswith an emphasis on athletic growth and developmentfundamentalsas well as safety

Experience inthe weight room; design and implement a program to includeconditioning resistance training mobility and recovery to help athletes develop to the best of their ability.
Attend all practices and meetsability to drive team van as needed;Availability to coach afternoon practices and attend afternoon meets with championship meets on Saturdays in May
In collaboration with Head Coach promote a positive attitude academic achievement and
personal growth
