The Assistant Technology Manager will focus on developing maintaining and improving business processes workflows and software systems across the organization. This role assists with day-to-day execution of technology initiatives system administration tasks documentation testing and user support to help ensure successful implementation of technology-based solutions.
The Assistant Technology Manager works cross-functionally to help maintain data accuracy support system integrations and contribute to training materials and process documentation. This position plays a key role in translating business needs into practical technology solutions by supporting configuration troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented technically inclined and eager to grow their experience in business process improvement and enterprise technology systems. Familiarity with databases reporting tools or software platforms is beneficial with opportunities to expand technical skillsets over time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop a deep understanding of process workflows and data structures while helping identify use cases for Technology projects.
Assist in gathering documenting and translating business requirements into technology-driven solutions.
Help build maintain and support applications and workflows within platforms such as Quickbase PowerApps or similar systems.
Assist with documenting and tracking Technology project tasks and statuses within the IT Department.
Develop and maintain application documentation training materials SOPs and user guides.
Create and maintain forms reports dashboards and basic integrations as assigned.
Communicate with end users to collect feedback enhancement requests and support needs.
Develop familiarity with the software platforms and hardware systems used and supported by the organization.
Assist in identifying reporting and resolving bugs or issues in custom applications and system connections.
Support automation efforts using formulas workflows scripts APIs and AI tools under the guidance of the Technology Manager.
Promote a strong quality culture aligned with Cooper Steels core priorities of Safety Quality and Production.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
4-year college degree in related field (Computer Science Management Information Systems Engineering) or relevant experience
2 years of cumulative experience in Quickbase (or similar low code environments) development and implementation
Experience in integration with or utilizing Microsoft Power BI is a plus
Knowledge of database concepts and data modeling is a plus
