Assistant Swimming & Diving Coach

Overview

Macalester College seeks an Assistant Swimming & Diving Coach to support the leadership and direction of all phases of a successful and competitive NCAA Division III swimming and diving program. This position assists with team practices competitions recruiting event management and student-athlete development and also assists with coaching Macalesters Masters swimming program. The successful candidate will contribute to a positive inclusive and team-oriented environment that supports the athletic academic and personal development of student-athletes.

This is a 12-month position with approximately 315 hours per week depending on the season; evening and weekend hours are required.

The swimming and diving program emphasizes competitive excellence academic achievement personal growth inclusion and the holistic wellbeing of its student-athletes. The Assistant Swimming & Diving Coach will work collaboratively with the Head Coach and coaching staff to support the continued success and development of the program

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning and conducting safe effective team practices.

• Provide coaching and instruction during practices and competitions.

• Assist with the supervision and operation of Masters swimming workouts.

• Support home meet preparation recruiting and other program events as needed.

• Assist with recruiting activities as needed.

• Promote a positive inclusive and team-oriented environment and represent Macalester and its athletics program with professionalism integrity and sportsmanship.

• Develop positive working relationships with student-athletes families coaches officials colleagues and members of the campus and broader community.

Qualifications:

• Valid drivers license required.

• 13 years of collegiate swimming experience is preferred.

• Knowledge of swimming training methods practice planning and competitive strategies.

• Strong teaching leadership organizational interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

• General proficiency with current office and computer technology.

• Ability to contribute positively to a collaborative team-oriented athletics department.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree preferred

Compensation:

$7800.00-$7800.00 Annually
