Job Summary
Job Summary
The division of Accountability and Assessment is responsible for managing all state and district required assessments reporting of and interpreting assessment results and managing and reporting state accountability data. The division provides information and analysis of data from the state and county assessments to district schools. Trains administrators and educators on the nuances and uses of school data for them to make informed decisions regarding issues of curriculum program development and implementation for the purpose of increased student addition to reporting assessment and accountability measures the division is also responsible for supporting the writing and management of grants for the district overseeing the Student Information Systems and Strategic Planning. Each of these departments focus on providing support to schools in aligning resources and programs based on needs identified by available data including the development of programs to prepare students for college and the workforce.
Essential Functions
1. Supervises and trains assigned Assessment Grants Research& Evaluation Student Information Management and Strategic Planning staff conducts performance appraisals makes employment and discipline recommendations and coordinates work assignments.
2. Oversees the process for state reporting of Full-Time Equivalency (FTE) transfer of files to and from state for state accountability reporting
3. Oversees all requirements related to State and District assessemtns including administration uploading of assessments growth score calculations and other appropriate data reporting.
4. Oversees the preparation of evaluation and research designs for district instructional programs including systems for collection processing analysis and reporting of data.
5. Assists in development of auditing procedures to determine effectiveness of instructional programs and accuracy of FTE reporting.
6. Supervises preparation of reports for administration School Board and the community regarding research evaluation and assessment activities.
7. Develops and delivers in-service training for district and school-based personnel on research and evaluation topics and methodology; and the utilization of assessment information state accountability rules and FTE reporting to enhance the instructional process.
8. Assists with development and establishment of evaluation contracts and agreements between Duval County Public Schools and external agencies.
9. Monitors the implementation of the districts strategic plan and provides regular updates to the Superintendent Cabinet and appropriate divsions.
10. Oversees district efforts to obtain and utilize funds from external sources.
11. Oversees develops and manages departmental budget.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Masters degree in from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Demonstrated experience in the areas of student assessment and evaluation of educational programs. School-based and district-level administrative experience preferred.
Certifications & Licenses: Florida Department of Education Certification in Supervision or Administration/Educational Leadership.
