Job Summary

Clinton High School is seeking a dedicated enthusiastic and knowledgeable Assistant Softball Coach to support our softball program. The Assistant Coach will work directly under the guidance of the Head Coach to instruct student-athletes execute game and practice plans and foster a competitive disciplined and supportive team environment.

The ideal candidate will bring positive energy a strong work ethic and a commitment to helping student-athletes reach their full potential on the field and in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruction & Coaching: Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting daily practices. Provide targeted instruction on game fundamentals positional skills (e.g. pitching catching infield/outfield play) and hitting mechanics.

  • Game-Day Support: Assist with game-day preparation strategy statistical tracking and in-game adjustments as directed by the Head Coach.

  • Student-Athlete Mentorship: Help monitor the academic progress conduct and overall well-being of players. Reinforce the values of sportsmanship accountability and Red Tornado pride.

  • Logistics & Administration: Assist with equipment inventory field maintenance and preparation uniform distribution and supervision of athletes during travel to away games.

  • Compliance & Safety: Maintain standard safety protocols to ensure player welfare. Strictly adhere to Clinton Public Schools policies Title IX regulations and Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) rules.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education:Bachelors degree preferred.

  • Certification: A valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate

  • Experience: Prior coaching or playing experience at the high school or collegiate level is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of softball rules strategies and skill development is required.

  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively within a coaching staff; strong organizational and motivational skills.
