Assistant Scientist- Aquatic Ecotoxocology

Assistant Scientist responsibilities include:

• Assist/run toxicology studies including preparing test solutions and daily maintenance of test systems.
• Feed water and examine animals for signs of illness disease or injury sustained in the laboratory.
• Must be comfortable with handling live animals.  
• Collect and analyze biological data.
• Performs analysis first level and peer review of data for accuracy and completeness.
• Provide guidance to technicians on the proper conduct of study assignments.
• May assist in preparation of data and final reports for completed projects or studies.
• Carries out routine experiments and procedures in accordance with all applicable regulatory (e.g. DEA EPA FDA FIFRA OECD etc.) requirements as defined by protocol method and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate would possess:

• Strong computer scientific and organizational skills
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team self-motivation adaptability and a positive attitude
• Ability to learn new techniques perform multiple tasks simultaneously keep accurate records follow instructions and comply with company policies

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in relevant field such as chemistry biochemistry biology chemical engineering pharmaceutical sciences or other directly related field or degree with comparable coursework in the above areas.
• In rare cases comparable demonstrated competence and experience in the relevant area may be used to substitute in whole or in part for the Bachelors degree.
• Familiarity and/or experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information :

Position is full-time Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Easton MD are encouraged to apply.
