Superior Skilled Trades is partnered with a growing industrial electrical services company seeking an Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer to support industrial electrical construction and transformer service projects throughout Florida and the Southeast.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrical construction professional who wants to build on their project coordination experience and grow into increased project management responsibility.

About the Opportunity

The Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer will work closely with Project Managers field supervision engineering estimating procurement safety customers vendors subcontractors and suppliers.

This position will help ensure projects are properly planned documented coordinated safely executed commercially controlled and successfully completed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support industrial electrical construction and field service projects from award through closeout
  • Review contracts estimates drawings specifications proposals and customer requirements
  • Assist with project handoffs execution plans schedules budgets and project documentation
  • Coordinate mobilization site access permits safety requirements material deliveries and field support
  • Track project progress labor hours materials equipment subcontractor costs and project expenses
  • Assist with forecasting cost control change orders and additional-work documentation
  • Prepare submit track and close RFIs and submittals
  • Maintain drawing logs submittal registers material logs project correspondence and other documentation
  • Coordinate procurement activities with suppliers vendors subcontractors and OEMs
  • Track long-lead equipment fabrication shipping delivery inspections and warranties
  • Support QA/QC inspections testing commissioning punch lists and corrective actions
  • Assist with project closeout including as-builts test reports warranties O&M manuals and turnover documentation
  • Communicate project status upcoming milestones constraints and open issues to project leadership
  • Coordinate with field teams to identify and resolve constructability and project execution issues
What Were Looking For
  • 35 years of experience supporting or managing industrial electrical construction electrical field service or similar technical projects
  • Working knowledge of industrial electrical construction methods equipment materials and terminology
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings one-line diagrams specifications submittals and contract documents
  • Experience with project scheduling progress tracking labor tracking cost control forecasting and change management
  • Experience with RFIs submittals procurement material tracking and project closeout
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with customers vendors subcontractors OEMs and field personnel
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Word Outlook and project-management/construction software
  • Experience with P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain strong follow-through
  • Valid drivers license
  • Ability to travel to industrial facilities and active construction sites as needed
Preferred Experience
  • Degree in construction management engineering electrical technology project management or related field
  • Previous experience as a Project Engineer Assistant Project Manager Field Engineer Electrical Foreperson Estimator or Project Coordinator
  • Low- and medium-voltage electrical systems
  • Transformers switchgear switchboards MCCs panelboards motors drives starters conduit feeders and grounding
  • Electrical testing commissioning and startup
  • Industrial electrical construction or field services
  • OSHA NFPA 70E lockout/tagout arc-flash safety and industrial site-safety practices
  • Experience working with utilities municipalities manufacturing facilities industrial plants construction sites or similar customers
