Assistant Professor of Psychology Applied Psychology
TheDepartment of Psychologyat Ohio Wesleyan University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in an applied area of psychology such as Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology or Human Factors starting in August 2027. We are seeking candidates committed to excellent undergraduate teaching and to developing a vibrant research program that involves undergraduates of all backgrounds perspectives and experiences. The successful candidate will join adepartmental communitywith a wide range of research and teaching interests and will benefit from extensive support for junior faculty including start-up funding pre-tenure research leave funding for student-faculty research collaboration via theSummer Scholarship & Research ProgramandThe OWU Connection and a range of workshops and mentoring programs supported by the endowedSmith Center for Faculty Excellence.
This job is part of a cluster of positions focused on flexibility interdisciplinarity and inclusivity. The faculty cohort will join an educational community that values interdisciplinarity and fosters close working relationships with students through our signature program in experiential learning the OWU Connection. Incoming faculty will be provided with mentoring professional development funds and opportunities to connect with faculty across theOhio 5andGLCA consortia. Advising students in their academic journey
Engaging in a consistent and focused line of research.
Providing service to the department university and profession
Assisting in curriculum development revision and evaluation
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in Psychology or a related discipline
Evidence of preparation for teaching at the undergraduate level
Interest in or experience with mentoring undergraduate researchers.

Teaching and Student Engagement Statement (4-page limit):Please provide a statement that articulates your teaching your response address your ability to teach a broad range of courses and to employ pedagogical approaches that support students with varied perspectives and experiences. Describe how you connect students with opportunities resources and networks that expand their access to your field of study. Include examples of outreach advising or program activities that have supported students whose pathways into the discipline may not follow a traditional trajectory.
Research statement (2-page limit): a statement outlining the central aims of the research program you would like to develop and how it will thrive at Ohio Wesleyan. Please describe how you would incorporate undergraduates in your research.
