Assistant Professor of Nursing

Chatham University invites applications for a full-time 12-month Assistant Professor of Nursing to teach in our online RN-BSN MSN or DNP programs. This faculty position reports directly to the Nursing Program Director and provides an exciting opportunity to advance nursing education within a collaborative student-centered environment.

As a key member of the faculty the successful candidate will support the mission of Chatham University through high-quality instruction active engagement in scholarly activities and meaningful service to the university and the broader community. We seek a dedicated educator and practitioner who is committed to preparing the next generation of nursing professionals.

This position is not remote. On-campus presence is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaching online courses in the RN-BSN MSN or DNP Program.

  • Grading student assignments and providing student feedback in a timely manner.

  • Advising assigned nursing students.

  • Participating in professional university and departmental service.

  • Engaging in a program of scholarship.

  • Fulfilling course liaison duties as assigned.

  • Establishing and maintaining effective timely clear professional communication with students faculty and staff.

  • Committed to continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Current unencumbered Pennsylvania professional nursing license or eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania.

  • Two degrees in nursing. Doctoral degree preferred. Commitment to achieve doctoral degree within three years of hire if not already achieved.

  • Experience in curriculum development program evaluation and accreditation preferred.

  • Online nursing teaching experience preferred.

  • Defined clinical scholarly agenda.

  • Must be able to travel to campus regularly.
