Position Summary
The English Department at Indiana University South Bend invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Composition and First Year Writing in the departments expository writing program to begin August 1 2027. Applicants should have enthusiasm for teaching first-year students and First-Year Writing in a First Year Writing General Education program integrated within a collegial and lively English Department. The full-time load (100% FTE ) is 12 credit hours (typically four courses) each fall and spring semester with one course reassigned time for scholarly and creative activities following university & campus policies. Successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to quality instruction maintain an active research agenda and engage in service activities.
