Stetson University invites applications for a full-time nine-month tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Computer Science with a focus on cybersecurity beginning in August 2027. We seek a broadly trained computer scientist with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting who will help grow and shape our Bachelor of Science program in Cybersecurity.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A Ph.D. in computer science cybersecurity or a closely related field is required by the appointment start date. ABD candidates will be considered if they expect to complete all degree requirements before the appointment begins. Candidates should demonstrate excellence or strong potential in undergraduate teaching the ability to teach across the computer science curriculum and the potential to sustain an active scholarly agenda. Particular consideration will be given to candidates whose teaching scholarship professional experience or certifications demonstrate the ability to contribute to the Cybersecurity program. Experience with inclusive teaching practices and undergraduate research mentorship is also preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The annual teaching load is five courses plus one course-equivalent immersive experience offered through Hatter Ready the Universitys experiential learning initiative.
The successful candidate will teach across the computer science curriculum including the introductory sequence and upper-division courses in their area of expertise and will contribute regularly to courses in the Cybersecurity program. Teaching assignments may also include General Education courses such as First-Year Seminars and Junior Seminars. Additional responsibilities include maintaining an active program of scholarship academic advising mentoring senior research projects and service to the department and University. The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (
offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity as well as Mathematics and Applied Mathematics. The computer science faculty serve approximately 150 student majors across the three programs. The Cybersecurity program features a focused eight-course curriculum. Small classes and individual mentorship on semester-long senior research projects allow faculty to develop close working relationships with students and students and faculty regularly collaborate on research publish papers and present their work at conferences. The department has hosted hackathons and high school programming contests and supports an active computer science club.

THE COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES:
Stetsons College of Arts and Sciences (
is the largest and most diverse of the Universitys colleges and schools; it includes the humanities social sciences natural sciences education and creative arts. With nineteen academic departments and nine interdisciplinary programs the College is the liberal arts core of the University. A great strength of the College is its faculty of approximately 140 full-time teacher-scholars.
