Assistant Professor of Accounting

The Economics Accounting and Business Department at Converse University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Accounting and Finance at the Assistant Professor level to begin in Spring or Fall 2027.

Teaching areas include financial accounting principles upper level accounting including Intermediate I and II Auditing Taxation and Accounting Information Systems.

The standard teaching load is 21 credit hours per year usually a 3-4 split load between fall and spring semesters. Additional responsibilities include advising students assessing student learning curriculum development and providing service to the department university and community. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts setting and provide evidence of excellence in teaching and continued professional development as well as the ability to collaborate with colleagues from diverse areas of study across a liberal arts campus.

Candidates should have a masters degree in accounting (MAcc or MSA) or an MBA with an accounting or finance concentration. CPA licensure is preferred regardless of degree. Selected candidates must complete a background check that is satisfactory to the University and be qualified to teach in the US. This position is ineligible for immigration sponsorship.

Converse University is a private coed liberal arts university with an enrollment of 1967 traditional and non-traditional undergraduate and graduate students located in Spartanburg SC. The department supports undergraduate majors in Economics Accounting Business Administration (with concentrations in International Business Marketing and Sports Management).
