Class Title: Assistant Principal ElementaryDepartment: SchoolClassification: Administrator 203 days (two (2) weeks before school opens and two (2) weeks after school ends)Immediate Supervisor:PrincipalCLASS DESCRIPTIONThe role of the Assistant Principal is to assist the Principal with the following duties:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND with the Curriculum Office to ensure implementation of changes to new curricula instruction and the principal in facilitating professional coordinate and ensure compliance with RTI State the principal with teacher and staff discipline referrals for the student the detention school-sponsored with class advisor with the supervision of students in the school cafeteria corridors and on school the principal with the development of plans for the opening and closing of the principal with scheduling the other responsibilities and duties as needed and required by the SKILLS AND ABILITIESWorking knowledge of district and school rules regulations and policies applicable to the area of of current research trends and issues in to work effectively with district personnel administrators staff parents outside agencies other school districts and the ability and experience in management and record of helping students achieve and sustain academic in strategic planning resource allocation leadership techniques and the coordination of people and of principles and methods for curriculum and training design teaching and instruction for individuals and groups and the measurement of training to use data in the decision-making process with strong analytical and problem-solving to continuously elevate professional contributions through ongoing reflection building on previous learning and remaining open and receptive to to learn and proficiently use various school-related systems and to multitask and prioritize work to meet time-sensitive to handle difficult in-person situations and telephone inquiries with courtesy tact and record of success in leading and supervising adult with differentiated instruction and lesson in State Testing of special education active listening and decision-making motivated and enthusiastic with excellent communication and interpersonal to communicate and convey information and ideas effectively both verbally and in writing using proper grammar and with computers and various software programs (e.g. Microsoft Word); experience with database management QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience (Required):Masters degree from a regionally accredited Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Building Level Administrator Certificate Pre-KindergartenGrade least five (5) years of Pre-KindergartenGrade 12 professional education relations and supervisory experience with and training in Response to Intervention (RTI) through RIDE NRIC or another credible Qualifications:At least three (3) years of experience as a Principal or Assistant DEMANDSThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
