A full-time tenure track position in Marketing at the Assistant or Associate Professor level is availablewith an anticipated start date of September 2027. Responsibilities include teaching courses like Market Research Consumer Behavior Principles of Marketing and advanced electives at the undergraduate or MBA levels. Scholarship expectations include publishing in high-tier marketing journals. Additional responsibilities include contributing to student and program success through service commensurate with rank.
Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or ABD at time of application in Marketing or in Business/Management with a concentration in Marketing from an AACSB-accredited institution. If ABD all degree requirements must be completed by June 15th of the first year of employment (e.g. June 15 2028).
  • Evidence of or clear potential for publication in top-tier peer-reviewed marketing journals.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching or strong evidence of teaching effectiveness at the college level
  • Ability to effectively teach and engage an increasingly diverse student population.
  • Strong communication professionalism and organizational skills.
  • For appointment at the Associate Professor level (tenure track) demonstrated significant research and evidence of successful teaching commensurate with standards for promotion to Associate Professor in the Department College and University.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional experience in the marketing field.
  • Experience publishing in top-tier peer-reviewed marketing journals.
  • Experience creating a student-centered learning environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a supportive inclusive academic community aligned with the department mission of inclusive excellence in marketing education and Western Washington Universitys values.

Salary

The starting salary range for assistant professor appointment tenure-track is generally between $130000-$135000 with placement within the positions salary range being based on qualifications and professional experience. The entire salary range for the assistant professor position is $130000-$157000 with the upper end of the salary range typically being achieved through collectively bargained salary adjustments.

The starting salary range for associate professor appointment tenure-track is generally between $143000-$148000. The entire salary range for the associate professor position is $143000-$172000.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the entire salary ranges provided above reflect the anticipated full salary range in the position at the given rank with progression in ranks occurring as outlined in the Universitys tenure and promotion process per the collective bargaining agreement.

Relocation assistance may be available per University guidelines. Salary and Start-up funds are to be determined upon being offered the position.
