The Assistant Nurse Manager leads by example - supporting the Nurse Manager in overseeing patient care and ensuring our mission is reflected in every aspect of their role from staffing and scheduling to budgeting and collaboration.

• Provides support and managerial assistance to the Nurse Manager in overseeing daily unit operations including:

  • Staffing and scheduling

  • Orientation and onboarding

  • Education and competency assessment

  • Budget monitoring

  • Establishing and maintaining patient care standards

  • Promoting evidence-based practice

  • Implementing quality improvement initiatives

• Acts as a key resource and backup support for unit staff and departmental operations

• Facilitates departmental workflow in collaboration with the Charge Nurse

• Serves as the primary resource for staff and the organization in the Managers absence

• Reports directly to the Nurse Manager and assists in overall department management

Education:

• Academic degree in nursing (BSN or MSN/MN) required.
• MSN/MN preferred.

Experience:

• Relevant clinical nursing experience at proficient to expert level of practice required with two years supervisory leadership or charge nurse experience in health care.

Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
• Strong problem-solving decision-making and time-management skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of operations including staffing scheduling productivity management workflow planning and staff development.
• Proficient in use of PC-based computer software including Microsoft Office applications.

• Current applicable state RN license required.
• Current BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.
