Assistant Men's Basketball Coach

Transylvania University invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Mens
Basketball Coach. Transylvania founded in 1780 is the nations 16th oldest institution of higher
learning and is consistently ranked in national publications as one of the top liberal arts colleges
in the country. Transylvania is located blocks from downtown Lexington KY in central
Kentucky. Transylvania is a proud member of NCAA Division III.

Responsibilities include assisting with the organizing and directing all aspects of a successful
and competitive collegiate program. The recruitment of qualified student-athletes and a
demonstrated commitment to their personal athletic and academic success are essential.
Responsibilities may also include recruiting travel management scheduling player
development budget management fundraising rules compliance and academic monitoring.
Secondary duties will include event management/sports information. This is a full-time nine-
month appointment.

Candidates must have a bachelors degree (masters degree preferred) and either collegiate
playing experience or coaching and effective communication/organizational skills. Also
candidates should have an athletics philosophy compatible with a Division III liberal arts college
with highly selective academic standards.
