Assistant Men's Basketball Coach

Position Summary:

The Assistant Mens Basketball coach will assist the head coach in the planning and operation of a NCAA Division II program. Assist with the practice and game preparation as assigned; evaluate performances make recommendations to the head coach regarding individual participation in games.

• Coordinate activities through the Head Mens Basketball Coach.
• Ability to effectively teach fundamentals position details and strategies of basketball during preparation and practice sessions.
• Ability to motivate teams to become successful.
• Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations the University community and the public.
• Ability to travel and recruit student-athletes.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to learn and comply with all policies and regulations of the University and the NCAA.
• Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to scout opponents
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelors degree in sports administration management business administration or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Two to three years of experience in coaching and/or playing in the respective sport ideally at the intercollegiate Division II level.
• Ability to recruit highly skilled student-athletes. Must be highly motivated with an outstanding work ethic. Knowledge of NCAA rules.
