Assistant Editor

This is a great entry-level role for someone interested in editorial work healthcare communications or project coordination. The assistant editor will help keep projects organized and moving forward while gaining hands-on experience in editing communication organization and project management.

Part-Time Independent Contractor

Fully Remote

Helping coordinate assignments for freelance writers editors and medical reviewers
Tracking deadlines and following up on outstanding work
Entering and updating project information in Jira
Making sure articles are in the correct workflow stage and continuing to move through the editorial pipeline
Reaching out to physicians by email or LinkedIn about medical review opportunities
Lightly editing pages after medical review and completing a final check before copy editing
Building and formatting pages in WordPress
Updating project trackers and organizing files in Google Sheets Drive and Docs
Helping organize payment information release forms and other contributor paperwork
Assisting with other editorial and administrative tasks as needed

The ideal candidate is organized detail-oriented and comfortable communicating with different contributors. Experience with Google Workspace is preferred. Familiarity with Jira or WordPress would be helpful but is not required as training can be provided.
