Assistant Diving Coach

Rose-HulmanInstitute of Technology is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-TimeDiving Coach to join our Athletics Department. As the nations top-rankedundergraduate engineering college for 27 consecutive years by U.S. News& World Report Rose-Hulman is committed to excellence in academicsathletics and student development. This position offers an excitingopportunity to work with talented student-athletes and contribute to thecontinued success of our intercollegiate diving program.

The Part-TimeDiving Coach will be responsible for planning and leading technical divingpractices conducting dryland training sessions and providing coaching supportduring competitions. The coach will ensure a safe training environment whileinstructing student-athletes in advanced diving techniques and complexmaneuvers. Working under the direction of the Head Coach this individual willassist with athlete development contribute to practice planning evaluateperformance and make recommendations regarding training and the absence of the Head Coach the coach may lead practicesand assume additional program responsibilities as assigned.

The successfulcandidate will maintain full compliance with NCAA Heartland CollegiateAthletic Conference (HCAC) and Institute policies and with athletic trainers and other support staff includingequipment facilities and sports information personnel is essential tosupporting the overall success of the program and ensuring a positivestudent-athlete experience.

This role alsoincludes assisting with the recruitment and evaluation of prospectivestudent-athletes. Recruiting activities may involve travel home visits andsupport of on-campus visits for domestic and international recruits. The coachwill play an important role in promoting the academic success and personaldevelopment of student-athletes by connecting them with campus resources andfostering a culture of excellence both in and out of the pool.

Additionalresponsibilities include assisting with scheduling travel planning and teamlogistics including transportation to away competitions when needed. The coachwill also help identify equipment needs recommend purchases to support programgoals and cultivate positive relationships with alumni supporters andfriends of the program. Opportunities to assist with fundraising and programadvancement initiatives are also part of this position.

Qualifiedcandidates will hold a bachelors degree and one to two years experienceplaying or coaching at the collegiate or professional level.

Preferredcandidates will have a masters degree and college coaching experience.

Salary is$4000 (September February; 6-8 hours/week). Salary is competitive. A highersalary may be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.
