Job Summary
Anderson University Athletics and Department of Sports Information invites applications for a full-time 12-month position as Assistant Director of Sports Information. The Assistant Director assists the Sports Information Director with the promotion of Anderson University Athletics through local media social media and the internet. The Assistant Director is responsible for coordinating all day-to-day interaction between members of the media and Anderson University Athletics Department as well as coordinating media interviews with coaches student-athletes and administrators. This position will assist with maintaining webcasting capabilities and adherence to NCAA production guidelines and the development of a positive relationship with national regional and local media. Additionally this role oversees the creation of media guides game programs and other printed materials as well as editing record keeping and web page maintenance. Attendance at all home events to cover games and handle management of event staff is required.
Knowledge equivalent to that gained through a bachelors degree preferably in journalism communications or related field along with a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience is required. Prior experience in a college or university environment is preferred as is familiarity with Presto NCAA Live Stats and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail and exceptional organizational abilities are required. An understanding of NCAA Division II and South Atlantic Conference rules and regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders and demonstrated commitment to Anderson Universitys Christian mission is essential.
